That is why it is important learn about nutrition and all of the food options when you are on the go. To get the most out of these options, make sure the food is filled with protein, low in sugar and provides the essential nutrients you need to get through your day. Here are a few healthy, nutritious options you can fit into any busy schedule.

Non-fat Cottage Cheese

A serving of cottage cheese can give the nutrient boost you need in the middle of the day. Cottage cheese is full of calcium and is a low-calorie food. It also contains twenty grams of protein (per 5 ounces) to help keep you feeling satisfied until your next meal.

Peanut Butter

A great protein-filled snack for those who still want to have a sweet treat is peanut butter. The key to choosing the right peanut butter for a protein-filled snack is to understand what varieties are available. The best for keeping sugar low and protein high are natural peanut butters made without additional sugar. These types of peanut butter are also available in individual packets so you can take it with you on your busiest days.

Hard-Boiled Eggs

Another easy on-the-go snack is the egg. While you may think eggs are just for breakfast, this food can be used throughout the day to give you a boost of protein (about 6 grams per egg). With the hard-boiled variety, you can avoid the addition of any cooking oil, and it makes a convenient snack to take along with you just about anywhere.

These are just some of the best options you have when it comes to better nutrition throughout your busy days. If you are looking for more information check out our Nutrition and Wellness program or contact one of our coaches.
